It was inevitable, a warning voiced by generations upon generations of scientists. The Earth was dying, being consumed by the human race who seemed to have no concern but for their own well-being. And though the majority of humanity was content to ignore the warnings, a small group of scientists knew that time was running out. So they devised a plan, a way to allow humans to travel into space and settle other planets.
The project spanned over a hundred years, each technological breakthrough bringing them one step closer to their goal, one step closer to saving humanity. Finally, in the year 2320, the project was declared complete, and a small group of volunteers were prepared for their voyage. Their target: a solar system known only as Alpha Beta Five. A planet had been discovered there with similar properties to Earth, and it was believed that it would be the ideal place for humanity to start.
But the mission was a failure, and contact between the ships and their Earthly base were lost. Believing years of work to be all for naught, the project was put into stasis, and all but abandoned. However, Earth’s resources continued to dwindle, and the skies continued to darken as the planet died. It was nearly another century later before the project would be revived, when it was discovered that the planet would run out of usable water within the next seventy years. So, now with funding from the far corners of the world, and the weight of saving humanity on their shoulders, the next generation of scientists and engineers began repairing the problems of the original design using the latest technology. Sharing their discoveries with the world, similar projects were started up. For once the world was united in a single cause: save humanity.
Wide-spread famine struck the planet before the project could be complete, and by the time the ships were declared ready for passengers, more fugitives by this time, the world’s population had drastically decreased. Hardest hit were those countries already suffering from droughts and famine. Trying to act before humanity was lost, as many people as possible were put onto the ships located around the world, along with various supplies believed were necessary for building a new life. On April 5, 2490, the human race took to the stars, only able to hope that things would go as planned...
The year is now 2805, and the human race has stretched across their newly claimed system. A system-wide government has been set in place, cities have been built, trades have been established. Things for the most part are running smoothly, with only small uprisings from time to time, as would be expected for any government.
But something is brewing in the far-reaches of the system. An uprising is in the works, unlike one the peoples of the system have seen before.

I'd like to think that most of us are familiar with the basic etiquette of RP. So I'm not going to make a whole list of do's and don'ts and assume that we're all adults here. I will make note of some 'game specific' rules.
1. Be mindful of the IC/OOC line. Crossing this line is unacceptable, and is grounds for removal for the game. Similarly, harassment of any type is also forbidden. If someone doesn't want to go along with your storyline idea, just accept it and move on, please.
2. There is an update limit of three weeks. Updates can be in the form of a character journal entry, or you may update with a narrative. Did your character do something interesting? Then write about it.
3. Strikethroughs are invisible to other characters. As such, bringing up something said in strikethrough that wasn't said in another way is considered crossing the IC/OOC line. Mistakes happen, of course, but please try to pay attention.
4. This game is going to be scene-centric. Therefore, threads are encouraged. If you do scene on AIM, please post it in the main community for all to see. Your activity in the game is going to be judged on these, not just your journal entries. If you continue to update your journal, but not participate in any scenes, you will be warned. Continuing to lack in the scene department may warrant your removal from the game.
5. The character limit is currently set at 4 (four). Any characters beyond this must be approved by the mod. If you're able to keep your current roster active, then it shouldn't be a problem. If you haven't done anything with one of your characters since they were added...well, then perhaps you should focus on them first. PBs should be appropriate for the age of your character. Miley Cyrus isn't in her twenties and George Clooney isn't in his twenties. I will, however, allow you to hold a PB with a younger age if you're going to strictly be using icons and pictures of the PB from that age. For example, if you wanted to PB Johnny Depp, but wanted to play him in his twenties and use pictures from when he was that age. That would be perfectly fine.
Be creative with your PBs as well, please. We do not accept challenges on holds; try and figure out someone else you'd like to use. As for band members and 'original' PBs? Band members and musicians, yes. 'Originals', no. And the number of band members is going to be severely limited. I have nothing against them, but I don't want them the overrun the game. Same thing with slash. I will allow it to a certain extent, but if the rations get out of hand, I will put a cap.
6. Scenes should be posted in the main community, using the following format:
Who: Which characters are involved?
Where: Where is the event taking place?
When: When is the event taking place?
What: What's going on??
Rating: Rated G-NC-17. NC-17 ratings should especially be warned; not everyone wants to read such things. And while we allow scenes with this rating, if that's all you're doing, it will come under review.
7. Large plots that could potentially affect more than just your character should be approved by the mod. Story arcs such as pregnancy, addiction, self-harm, abuse, and etc. are allowed, but in moderation and handled maturely. Pregnancies last 9 months.
8. Any questions should be made in the FAQ post. The mod will try to get back to you as quickly as possible.

Occupation: Be creative and realistic about this. A twenty-year-old is not going to be a high-ranked military official. If you have questions about whether or not an occupation is allowed, just ask!

Biography: Please provide a link to your character's biography. This can be done in narrative form, or with 15 (minimum) detailed points about your character. Please include information on your character's personality.
Picture: Please provide a picture (at least 300 x 300) of your PB for the character directory. Picture should have the face visible and clear. The picture size for the directory is 200W by 300H, so please keep this in mind.
Examples: Please provide some sort of example of your writing style. This is going to be a writing-centric game. Example journals are preferred, but if you don't have one, contact the mod and we'll work something out for you!
Link to First Entry: The entry can either be a journal post, or a first or third person narrative/scene. This is just to give us an idea of who your character is going to be outside of the biography.
